What is indemnification?

Indemnification is a legal term for the protection of an end-user from copyright infringement claims made by third parties against an open source software company. If it was ever discovered that code included in an open source product violated copyrights, this third party may pursue legal action against the users of the product. While this is very unlikely due to the high visibility into the source code and extensive review and QA process, it is important to many end-users to minimize any risks associated with using open source in the enterprise.

What indemnification does ActiveEon offer its customers?

ActiveEon offers indemnification to all its subscription customers, as well as to its Certified Partners. ActiveEon will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless our customers from threatened or actual legal action relating to third party intellectual property infringement claims. This covers risk mitigation including unlimited legal defense and code repair/replacement. Damages are also covered up to 4 times the value of the contract.

ActiveEon’s indemnification offering is available to all customers who have purchased a subscription support from ActiveEon. ActiveEon provides indemnification for intellectual property infringements, including:
